Summer Camp 2011

Confucius Institute at Mason’s 2011 Summer Bridge participants were kept very busy during their time in China. Upon arriving in Beijing, the group traveled to Jilin and stayed in a newly renovated dorm at the Changchun Foreign Language School where they raved about the hospitality of the teachers and staff. Here, students participated in 10 days of language and culture classes and spent a day with a Chinese family. The group was also able to do lots of sightseeing including local parks, malls, and a visit to the Culture Square where students danced with locals and watched the live shows and kite flying. After the completion of the classes in Jilin, the group traveled back to Beijing to visit places such as the Temple of Confucius, the Summer Palace, the Forbidden City, and the Great Wall of China. See below some of the highlights from the trip.
