The China In My Eyes photography exhibition is being showcased at the Loudoun Campus Library Learning Commons from November 12 to December 13. This non-juried exhibit features over 60 photos of daily life in China taken by more than 30 photographers of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds.

The China In My Eyes photograph exhibition has been previously shown at George Mason University Fairfax campus, Northern Virginia Community College Annandale, Alexandria and Manassas campuses, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes in Fairfax and Loudoun counties, Kate Waller Barret Library, and the Confucius Institute U.S. Center in Washington D.C. Please contact us if your institution or school is interested to host this exhibit.

The starting again on Sept. 11th we will have free Chinese Calligraphy Workshops every Tuesday at 10am. Please join us as we explore this ancient art form. Learn how to create your own visually stunning piece of Chinese calligraphy while practicing the basic techniques that are the foundation of all Chinese brush art. All are welcome in the CIMason reading room in the East Building room 129.

The China In My Eyes photography exhibition will be showcased at the Kate Waller Barrett Branch of Alexandria Library from May 20 – June 24. This non-juried exhibit features over 60 photos of daily life in China taken by more than 30 photographers of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds. An opening reception will be held at the library on Sun. May 20 from 2:00 – 3:30pm. Traditional Chinese teas and candies will be available for sampling.

During the reception, a free Chinese watercolor painting workshop will also be offered on Sun. May 20 from 2:00-3:30pm. This workshop will be taught by a Chinese teacher from the Confucius Institute at Mason. Participants will learn how to make a simple painting to take home and all supplies will be provided. Attendance at the painting workshop is limited to 10 people (ages 16+). To register for the watercolor class, contact the librarian Megan at 703-746-1714 or mzimmerman@alexlibraryva.org

The China In My Eyes photography exhibition will be showcased at the Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) Manassas campus library from March 15 – April 25, 2018.  This non-juried exhibit features over 60 photos of daily life in China taken by more than 30 photographers of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds.

The exhibit offers viewers a window into daily life in China, encouraging viewers to explore, consider and imagine. A variety of other Chinese artifacts are also on display for participants to learn more about Chinese culture.

On Thursday, March 29 from 12:30 – 2:00pm, a special Chinese cultural program will be presented by Chinese teachers from the Confucius Institute at Mason. The event is open to the public and will feature traditional Chinese tea as well as hands-on crafts such as decorating miniature Chinese kites, making Chinese papercuts and using Chinese calligraphy brushes.

The China In My Eyes photo exhibition will be showcased at Kate Waller Barrett Branch Library in Alexandria in May and June. The exhibit has previously been shown at George Mason University, NVCC Annandale and Alexandria campuses and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes in Fairfax and Loudoun counties.
